Following on from yesterday’s post, I’ve managed to keep myself busy again today at work, then headed straight out to The Real Greek in Bournemouth, as they were opening their Teratsa (outdoor roof terrace) ready for the summer. Although it was pretty cold tonight, even the patio heaters weren’t going to keep me warm, so we sat inside.
I’ve never eaten at the Real Greek before, although I love Greek food, I just wasn’t sure if the chain restaurant would be any good and I wasn’t sure how many of the dishes would be meat free.
As it turns out, there’s a whole vegan menu! We had some meze and warm bread then I had a jackfruit souvlaki.

I’m not sure what came over me, but I decided to share some of the souvlaki, as I wanted people to try the jackfruit. Everyone said how nice it was and that you wouldn’t even know it wasn’t meat.

It would have been lovely to eat outside, the terrace has a little bar area and cute little tables looking over Bournemouth gardens. I can imagine sitting out on a hot summers evening, drinking a cold beer, stuffing my face with tzatziki and bread.
I only have 62 days until I go back to Kos in Greece and tonight has definitely got me in the mood for my holiday, if only it would hurry up!
